I haven't been playing AoC regularly or keeping up with it much, so why is everyone saying it's dead?

From what I heard, it's buggy as hell, and there's zero content from lv. 55-70 (100% grind).

Turbine supposedly only polished lv. 1-20.

Been watching my friend playing AoC and I was personally excited about the whole siege pvp in it, guilds can build towns then attack other towns etc. It turned out though that a guild who has built a town can't attack other towns, only those without one can. I don't know if Turbine has changed that mechanic but it was like that few weeks ago. Imba.

Sigh.

Oh well, /unlearn alchemy /ragequit

It seems that only thing that inscription wouldn't be able to do is to summon ponies. And that will probably be adressed in 3.1 patch.

What they did to WAR is beyond disappointing. I never really enjoyed it to begin with, but now... Jesus Christ.

Eagerly awaiting WotLK. I will find a way to make Arkantos play the game with me again, even if I have to grind his character to level 40 personally. Potion Sickness is a huge turnoff (I have a couple alchemist characters that, had they ability to do so, would probably go an hero over this shit), but I'm sure there will be some bullshit way to get around it introduced either at release or not too long afterwards to appease the people who were already shafted by what TBC did to Herbalism/Alchemy.

As much as I looked forward to WAR, I knew it was royally RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed when I saw EA on the box.

That said, yes Lich King is gonna rule. I'm loving the raid design changes, and it'll give my guilds something to do when we don't have 25.

Didn't they state the removed classes/cities would be added at a later date. While it's disappointing, they need to get the game out to make some money. They've postponed the launch 2 times now? Every day they wait, more people will turn against them. This really is the only option for them at this point.

That's one of the best change in the whole deal. Pre-TBC I spent as much time farming consumables as raiding. After 2.1 in May 07 where the consumable change went in, flasks/elixirs became a manageable deal, but in every single raid I had to take 40 mana pots, 40 haste pots. Having to do that every time is not enjoyable. And I have an alchemy alt with all the rare recipes and such.

After this change, I can concern myself about actually playing in raids than having to make sure all 25 of my players have the necessary pots/drums etc

I also don't see how it affects leveling. Once you are out of combat, the debuff goes away, and since potion cooldown is 2mins anyway, unless you are in combat for over 2 mins while leveling for some reason, it'll never affect you. The only thing it affects is boss fights and it affects it positively.

The class changes include significantly higher mana regeneration obviously to make up for the loss.

The WotLK beta should be an example for future betas for MMOs. So far it has witnessed massive amounts of developer communication(not CM, actual devs) amounting to hundreds of posts every week. There was no NDA in beta, and thus even though it's a closed beta, the amount of feedback that goes in everyday is incredible. A guy in beta collects well-made observations from his friends/guildies and posts them in the beta forums.

As a result, instead of the beta being simply an early access or free demo, it is actually helping the game a lot.

Compare this to WAR, which still has the NDA up with 6 weeks to go till launch. Compare this to AoC which had the NDA up till launch day. I wasted my money and time with AoC, I'm not going to risk it with WAR, but I'm going back to WoW with WotLK even though I had been heavily burned out of raiding because of what I'm seeing so far, thanks to no NDA.

BTW, most professions get a passive boost in WotLK. (Mining gets +35 Stamina at max, Skinning gets +38 Crit, Alchemy gets +25% Elixir/Flask).

So if I were to reroll a Paladin, I would make him Mining/Skinning.

Faer, if I have a job by the time WotLK comes out, and you grind my character to level 40, I will buy a new account and play.

Until then, I'll continue considering re-downloading the client to play with you on private servers again.

Don't remember what server I played on last, uninstalled WoW a few weeks ago so none atm. If I do reinstall, I'll be playing on whatever server Faer does.
